Belinda is a Cape Town based artist who studied Art at College after Matric, following the Decorative and Textile design stream. She changed direction after marriage and pursued her Ballet Career, qualifying as a RAD Teacher and running her own studio in Cape Town for many years. She retired from teaching ballet and has returned to her passion of making art.
Her primary focus is in on the detailed rendering of flowers, trees and the indigenous flora found in the Western Cape as well as the great open places and spaces of the ever changing landscapes and coasts of Southern Africa. She also paints ballerinas!
“I am inspired by the creation of God; His art that lives and breathes. The great open spaces of sky and cloud, hill and vale, veld, mountains or sea. The delicacy and intricacy in flowers and trees. When I look into the heart of a flower, I feel as if I am looking into the heart of God. I see His love for us in the beauty He has given us to enjoy.”
